Deaftronics: Winner of the Impactionable Social Innovation Winter Competition 2021

Deaftronics wins the Social Innovation Winter Competition held on February 24, 2022. The winner received funding, mentorship, and access to a community to help them develop an innovative solution that addresses a social problem. 

Deaftronics Pty Ltd is a firm that manufactures and sells solar-powered hearing aids and accessories, as well as other services like training and repairs.

Hearing-impaired people who are also internationally certified in micro soldering techniques used in the aviation industry own and run Deaftronics. This is the technology behind the SolarAid charger, which is also known as SolarEar in other parts of the world.

Every year, Impactionable hosts Social Innovation Competitions to provide support and practical tools to budding entrepreneurs who want to transform their ideas into reality and make a positive change in the world. 

This Competition was sponsored by Because International and was open to anyone who has a unique product idea that intends to address a social problem.

The finalists of the Social Innovation Winter Competition 2022 were:: 

Project Go: The company provides a one-of-a-kind, cutting-edge water conservation solutions based on COLSTO modular water tanks. For both domestic and business application, the COLSTO product provides water harvesting, water storage, and greywater recycling options.

Ina Lite: They are passionate about developing energy solutions, as well as human-centered products and systems, with the goal of improving their continent. They want to be a source of inspiration in their communities.

Botanica: Botanica Repellent Company is a social enterprise that manufactures a natural mosquito repellent jelly that protects people from mosquito bites and thereby helps to combat malaria in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Valleybee: A bee keeping company using innovative technology to increase the productivity of beehives and impact communities and the environment.

As finalists, they will be able to post their first job for free on Impactionable’s Social Impact Job Portal, advertise a project to our community, host a Video Session to the community, and some were accepted into the Because Accelerator program. Congratulations!
